LauLāʻau offers a profound education which prepares you for the state license. The education is built on two levels.

You will be prepared as well for you future career be this in a Hotel, a Clinic or building up your own business.

Integrative Massage Therapy Part 1 

Workshops includes:

50 hours

​Anatomy, Physiology, and structural Kinesiology 

100,5 hours

  • ​The proper procedure in massaging (concerning the protection of both client and massage therapist) 

  • Record keeping 

  • Hygiene

  • Theory

  • Technique for specific conditions 

  • Contraindications of massage for specific techniques according to conditions 

  • Draping

  • Assessment of the client’s condition and the general technique to be applied. ​

Upon completion of Level 1, students may submit an application for apprenticeship to the State of Hawaii. After receiving state approval, students may start Level 2.

Dates:

August 20, 2022 until October 15, 2022

Mondays 12:00pm - 5:30pm

Thursdays 1:00pm - 7:00pm

Saturdays 9:00am - 5:00pm

Integrative Massage Therapy Part 2

After completing Integrative Massage Therapy Part 1 you may apply for the apprenticeship to the State of Hawaii. After receiving state approval, students may start Level 2.

The course of study for the 6 to 12 months of apprenticeship training program with a minimum of 420 hours includes the following: 

70 hours Clinical operations 

20 hours Sanitation - (i.e., application of department of health regulations, linen, towels)

30 hours Office procedures - (i.e., answering phone, taking appointments, client rapport)

10 hours Record keeping - (client records)

40 hours Advanced techniques

20 hours Observation of classroom-instructors

20 hours Consulting

310 hours Hands on supervised massage with record keeping 

Before applying for the state license exam you have to show proof of having a current certificate of completion of both the infant and adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

6 to 12 months
